Dive Insight:
"Carrier is an iconic company with a winning team and a great culture. I’ve followed the company for a long time, and I’m excited to join the team at this important time.” McLevish conveyed to CFO Dive via email.
McLevish joins Carrier from his role as senior adviser to the CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance, where he focused on executing strategic partnerships and mergers and acquisitions, the company said.
He has nearly 30 years of broader finance leadership experience, including in the spinoff and startup space, and on the board at public companies, where his title ranged from executive chairman to committee chair.
"I've long admired Carrier as an innovative company taking on some of the world's toughest challenges," McLevish said. "I'm looking forward to joining the team and playing an active role [in] executing our strategy and delivering long-term, sustainable growth."
Among McLevish's former employers, Carrier most resembles Ingersoll-Rand, the diversified industrial manufacturing company.
Carrier announced its spinoff from United Technologies Corp. in November. UTC now operates autonomously in the defense and aerospace industries, while Carrier will continue to pursue its own portfolio of brands, including Carrier commercial and residential HVAC, Automated Logic controls, Kidde and Edwards fire safety, and LenelS2 security solutions, UTC said in a release.
