Dive Insight:
Zimbrick takes the financial helm with three decades of experience in the industry. Before arriving at Ogletree, Zimbrick served as CFO for Steptoe & Johnson LLP, beginning in 1999. His resume also includes acting as financial services manager at IBM and another CFO position at APCO Worldwide, according to his Linkedin profile.
Olgetree Deakins specializes in employee-related matters. Based in Greenville, SC, the firm has a diverse range of clients including many Fortune 50 companies in the U.S.
The new finance chief will oversee a team of 130 finance professionals. Zimbrick says he specifically has his sights set on increasing billing speed through the greater reliance of underlying metrics. “David brings a wealth of experience to the firm and is highly-regarded in both the legal and financial fields,” said Matt Keen, managing shareholder.
Zimbrick informed Steptoe that he was leaving the firm back in July, citing shifts in leadership at the firm as well as looking to move on to a bigger firm, according to law.com. Ogletree has both more attorneys and revenue than Steptoe.
